In March of 2021, JT Klein Company acquired a 9.5 acre parcel to redevelopment the former Westgate Mall. This development is considered one of the largest blighted site redevelopments in the City of Madison within the last decade. Upon completion the University Park redevelopment will contain over 450 apartments ranging from workforce housing, affordable senior housing, and luxury housing. There will also be a commercial and/or medical office project ranging from 30,000-160,000 sqft fronting the corner of Whitney Way & Tokay Boulevard.
